To have and to hold…
At Thoresby Weddings we are delighted to offer three fantastic options for your ceremony needs!
Our civil ceremonies take place in our stunning Victorian Riding Hall, beneath its large windows is where your ceremony will take place. The maximum capacity for a civil ceremony is 120 people. The ceremony area can be styled as you like with additional items such as arches, carpets + room divides, however you like.
We do have a civil ceremony fee which can be added to your booking, and you will also need to contact a registrar to come and marry you. We are in the North Notts area and can put you in touch with the right people. We cannot book your wedding with the registry office, this by law has to be done by you. You will receive a welcome pack from the registration office where you can detail what you would like in your ceremony.
Ceremonies will last between 20-30 minutes depending if you add poems or additional music. Civil ceremonies are removed from religion with no hymns or readings, which is worth remembering if you are torn between a church or civil wedding.
St Johns Church – Perlethorpe
St Johns Church in the small Thoresby estate village Perlethorpe is only a 15-minute walk from our wedding venue.
Its stunning features make it the perfect small village church for your wedding, it has all the village charm you would expect. With it being so close to the reception venue you can almost guarantee that your guests will not get lost on their way to your reception.
The church can hold up to 170 people. You can expect the ceremony to last around 40 minutes, again depending on readings and how much music you put into the service. After the ceremony, you have a stunning setting for some pictures and that confetti shot. Then drive across our picturesque estate to your reception.
Bookings must go through the church please enquire for information.
With acres of ancient woodland on our estate if you are looking for something very different then we can make it happen. Our woodland weddings are outdoors and are built around your requirements.
Woodland weddings are not legally binding but enable you to try some wedding traditions that are making a comeback such as handfasting. By booking a celebrant to deliver the ceremony you can completely shape your wedding ceremony to what you want, combining faiths and beliefs in a very modern and bohemian way.
For more information on how to plan your romantic woodland ceremony please get in touch with the team for a meeting!
Many thanks to Grace Elizabeth photography for capturing the bohemian essence of this woodland wedding.
