Ben and Rebekah had a wedding to remember this time last year, an all-out festive wedding, with all the trimmings.

Ben proposed to Rebekah on Christmas Eve 2016

“Whilst I was wrapping last minute presents! Christmas is our favourite time of year, so it was lovely at home in front of our Christmas tree. (And why we wanted to get married at Christmas time)”

With the theme set, their unique wedding meant they wanted a venue that could be super flexible to let them create the wedding they wanted.  Lucky for us a good friend of theirs had already had a wedding at Thoresby Park and recommended the very accommodating Riding Hall venue.

This wedding oozed Christmas, with chocolate treats everywhere you looked and the hall dripping in lights.  Their team of suppliers came together with help and guidance from the Thoresby Weddings team, Ben and Rebekah used;

DÉCOR – Individual by Design

CATERING – Hensons

BAND – Southwest Band

BEAUTY –  Adele Coxon

DRESS – made by Jessica Jane Bespoke Bridal wear

SUIT – Hugo Boss

We always say that weddings are about pulling in favours and getting stuck in with a bit of DIY. Rebekah had a great team of willing helpers with the wedding, cousins taking care of the cake and photography (shout out to Richard Neale for sharing some photographs).  Rebekah made all her own centrepieces, and a host of family members descended to decorate the numerous Christmas trees the day before.   There is nothing like a wedding to bring a family together and they certainly earned a glass of fizz for their efforts.

With everything in place, we were ready for a Christmas wedding and the guests were not disappointed, everyone commented on the decoration and setting for the wedding.  Christmas is the perfect time for a wedding and this wedding absolutely summed up Christmas spirit, there was an electric buzz of excitement the evening before and the sense of enjoyment and love was felt by everyone, we asked Rebekah what she loved most about planning and the day itself…

“Just making everything Christmassy and knowing we were going to have an amazing day was the best part of planning!  Walking into the hall on the day, which looked stunning (thank you Individual by Design) and seeing all my friends and family – it really was magical.”

Now approaching their first anniversary we are looking forward to catching up with Rebekah and Ben to reminisce about their day.  They have a little bundle of joy to welcome very soon too and we couldn’t be happier for them.

With lots of engagements over the festive period, you may be looking to book your Christmas wedding here at Thoresby for 2019 so pop in for a chat with us and create your own magical day.

Lastly Rebekah’s advice…

“Just enjoy it all. Don’t stress as it always works out in the end. Make sure you have exactly what you and your partner want – it is your day and no one else’s!”
